~~~Memorial Mass & Spaghetti Dinner on November 20th at 5 PM in IHM~~~
Archbishop Paul Leibold Assembly #1621 at 1800 Ohio Pike, Amelia, OH 45102-2019 US - Color Corps
Color Corps
Color Corpsmen are trained and coordinated by the Faithful Commander who is appointed by the Faithful Navigator for a term of one year. They have been duly instructed in the Manual of Sword and are recognized by their plumed chapeau [hat], colored cape, and sword. They give of their time freely and participate in many Liturgical rites within our local parishes as well as Community functions.
What do the different cape colors mean???
The differfent colors represent the Office, or the Rank of the wearer. Most commonly seen are the Purple, White, and Red capes. The Purple is worn by the Color Corps Commander and is in charge of the Color Corps members; he is appointed by the Faithful Navigator. The White is worn by the current Faithful Navigator and Past Navigators; the Red is worn by those Color Corpsmen who have not held an Office in the Assembly.
The 'not so common' colors seen are the Dark Blue, Light Blue, Gold, and Green. The Dark Blue is worn by the current Supreme Master; Light blue is worn by the current Vice-Supreme Master, and Former VSMs; the Gold is worn by the current Maser who is in charge of all the Sir Knights in his district. Gold is also worn by Former Masters. Green is worn by the Marshall who is in charge of all Commanders in the District, and is appointed by the Master.
If you are a 4th Degree member in good standing, and are interested in joining the Color Corps, send us an email requesting information and we'll get back to you.
