Color Corps Drill Manual
The revised (10/4/2008) Color Corps Drill Manual (#808) consists of :
1. General Information, such as CC Regulations, Official Regalia, Wearing of Incumbent Officer Jewels and Past & Former Miniature Jewels,
2. Color Corps Protocol, includes Silent Commands, Color Guard Procession and Recessional, posture during the Mass, Honor Guards at Wakes, to name a few itmes of protocol covered,
3. Individual Drill consists of General Commands given by the Commander such as Facing Movements, Drill with Sword, and the different positions of Attention, and finally
4. Manual of the Sword. Each member of the Honor Guard must be proficient in handling the sword. This will only be accomplished by practice and rehearsals. Lieold Assembly will hold quarterly practice sessions for all members of the Honor Guard, i.e. any member in formal regalia, and Color Guard, i.e. Flag bearers and the guards thereof.
Note also that the wording on page 44 is not congruent with figure 15, so follow the wording. Figure 16 is also incorrect. The sword should be vertical and not arched. However, notice the position of the chapeau in figure 16 ... it is parallel to the ground and *not* sitting on the back of the head with tip pointing up.
You can access and/or download the entire Color Corps Drill Manual HERE. It is a PDF file that will open in its own window. You might consider reducing the zoom level after it loads to get a better rendition.
NOTE: This is a LARGE file of 56 pages if you intend to print it out, however you could print out selected pages instead of the entire book.
